Thank you for visiting my blog. I am a writer, musician, husband, father, and very grateful adopted son of God. You can find out more about me on the About Richard M Potter page. The page you’re on right now is meant to provide some navigational tips and help you find your way around. If you just want to check out the latest blog post, click here.

Nothing compares to being in the zone. You’ve probable felt it — those natural-high experiences when you’re expending energy and recharging your batteries at the same time. It’s in those moments that you are doing what you were created to do and being who you were created to be. In other words, redeeming your purpose. The objective of this site is to help people discover their purpose and redeem it (i.e. cash it in) for personal benefit, community improvement, and affirmation of the Creator.

A while back I was talking with a friend about being in the zone. He heads up the lighting team for our church services, and I asked what it was about that task that fills him up. He likened it to finding the place where he belongs, even though it took him a long time and lots of retraced steps to get there (he’s in his early 50s). He was also helping out with lights at the local community center, not for monetary benefit, but simply to learn and see how others do it differently. I described the zone as being exactly where God wants me to be, doing exactly what He wants me to be doing, for the right reason.

“It’s like everything just clicks into place.”

“Yeah,’ he said. “That’s a good way to describe it.”

So how do you discover your purpose and make it click on a regular basis? The content of this site will tell you what I and others have done (and do) to make it click over the last 10 years. (I’m making it click right now…can you hear the keyboard?;-) Posts will be categorized in the following categories. As you click on each bullet point, you’ll link to a post that describes what you’ll find in that category. If you want to know more on that topic, click on that category in the post or in the Category Cloud.

If you don’t find what you’re looking for or have questions, please leave a comment here or on any of the posts. And you can follow me on Twitter: @richardmpotter. Your feedback will help everyone who visits the site in their quest to redeem their purpose.  I look forward to the interaction and hearing how you are making it click!
